August 25, 2026The McCully Fire started on August 22, 2026, about 22 miles northwest of Baker City, Oregon, on the Whitman Ranger District.At 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, command of the fire transferred from California Interagency IMT 1 to the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and a Type 4 organization. California Team 1 produced its final daily update and operations video on Tuesday. However, the forest will periodically provide updates here and on its Facebook page.
