How it works

Don't sleep through an evacuation order

  1. 1

Save the places you care about

Home, a cabin, a parent's house. Each place gets its own alert radius and alert types.

  2. 2

We watch official feeds around the clock

Evacuation zones, incident updates, 911 dispatch, aircraft, and satellite detections, checked continuously.

  3. 3

Your phone rings when it's time to go

The moment an evacuation order covers your address, you get an alert. With Pro, Fire Nearby calls and texts you, even on silent.

Features

Everything you need when fire is close

Evacuation orders, matched to you

Live zones from official feeds, matched to your exact address, not a county-wide guess.

Minutes after the first 911 call

Dispatch, aircraft, and satellite signals often surface a new fire before any headline.

Every fire layer that matters

Active fires, perimeters, smoke, air quality, firefighting aircraft, and evacuation zones.

Lock Screen tracking

Follow a fire with Live Activities: size, containment, and distance without opening the app.

Live lookout cameras

Every fire links to the nearest wildfire cameras, so you can see the smoke for yourself.

Your household, covered

With Pro, family members get the call and text too, no app required on their phones.

Questions

Is the Fire Nearby app free?

Yes. The app is a free download and the live map, address risk reports, Lock Screen tracking, and a push alert when an evacuation order covers your place are free for everyone. Fire Nearby Pro adds phone calls and texts, every alert type, up to three places, and a household circle.

How does the evacuation phone call work?

Fire Nearby watches official evacuation zone feeds for the addresses you save. With Fire Nearby Pro, when an order covers one of them, the app's alert line calls and texts your phone. Saving the number as a contact and turning on Emergency Bypass lets the call ring even when your phone is on silent; the app walks you through it.

Where does the fire data come from?

Official sources only: national and state incident feeds, county evacuation zones, the National Weather Service, NOAA satellites, and AirNow air quality monitors. Every data point is timestamped.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. Fire Nearby is available for iPhone. On any other device, the full live map is free at firenearby.com.

Can my family get alerts without the app?

Yes. With Pro, you can add family members to your household circle. They get the evacuation calls and texts on their own phones without installing anything.

When it's time to go, your phone rings.

Set up your places in under a minute. Free to download; calls and texts come with Pro.
