August 29, 2026The McKee Draw Fire in Sutton County started on August 29, 2026, under elevated fire conditions. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters, and heavy equipment at 12:51 pm. Texas A&M Forest Service is currently in unified command with local departments.UPDATE - August 29 - 8:00 pm - State resources are currently conducting a strategic firing operation with local firefighters.There is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) in effect for the McKee Draw Fire Area.
