August 14, 2026The Fielder Mountain Fire began shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, August 13, ODF Southwest Oregon District, Rogue River Fire District, Grants Pass Fire Rescue and Rural Metro Fire were dispatched to reports of grass fires along northbound Interstate 5 near Mile Marker 51. ODF CIMT transferred command of the fire back to the local district at 6:00 p.m. on August 21, 2026. ODF's Southwest Oregon District will continue to manage the fire with a Type 3 organization and local resources.
