August 29, 2026The West Fork Fire in Sutton County started on August 28, 2026, under elevated fire conditions. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters, aircraft and heavy equipment at 4:54 pm. Texas A&M Forest Service is currently in unified command with local departments.Update - August 29 - 11:30 am - Fire is actively burning at the heel.
