August 27, 2026On August 21, 2026 at 1350 the Whiskey Fire smoke was reported by Capilla Peak Lookout.The cause was determined to be lightning strike burning within mixed conifer within steep terrain north of Osha Peak, south of Capilla Peak and west of the Manzano Crest Trail in the Manzano Mountain Wilderness within the Mountainair Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest.
