September 17, 2026The Superior National Forest–East Zone is planning prescribed fire operations this year, pending all required approvals. We estimate this work to continue through the fall as weather conditions allow. Units that do not experience conducive conditions this season will be postponed. We use prescribed fires to help reduce overgrown vegetation to help protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfires.
