September 1, 2026A wildfire started in the afternoon on Monday, August 31 near Bulcher, Texas in Cooke County. Local fire departments responded and were able to stop the forward progress of the fire. Texas A&M Forest Service was contacted to assist with bulldozers. Access was difficult, but the bulldozers were able to construct fireline.FINAL UPDATE - September 1, 2026 4:15 pm - The Bulcher Fire is 100% contained. Update - September 1, 2026 - 2:13 pm - Firefighters continue work to mop up along left flank of the fire. Dozers have tied in dozer line on the right flank from the previous night.
