August 27, 2026Thunderstorms over the past several weeks have brought a significant amount of lightning to the area. The Electric Fire was reported on Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The fire is burning seven miles north of Marblemount, Washington, within the Bacon Creek drainage. It is located on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on the Mt. Baker Ranger District. It was originally estimated at 15 acres. The Prineville Hotshots with aviation resources were dispatched for initial attack.
