The Frijoles Fire, which started August 4th due to a lightning strike, is burning in steep terrain 5 miles west of Sierra Mosca, 3 miles southeast of Cundiyo, NM. Firefighter and public safety are the number 1 objective and the fire is being handled as a full suppression incident.In order to facilitate safe and efficient suppression efforts the public is asked to avoid the area of the fire and the Santa Cruz Overlook Rd and Campground.Aviation operations in support of suppression efforts are occurring at Nambe Lake and Santa Cruz Lake.
