July 17, 2026The Kaiser Canyon Fire was started by lightning on July 16, 2026, approximately one mile south of Nespelem, Washington, on Colville Agency lands. Persistent hot and dry weather influenced fire behavior and contributed to rapid growth. The fire spread west past Owhi Flats into Ferry County and northeast toward Omak Lake.
