The Follow Fire in Sutton County started in the late afternoon of Sunday, September 6, 2026. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance to local fire departments in the form of additional firefighters, heavy equipment and air resources and responded quickly. Texas A&M Forest Service continues to operate in unified command with the Sonora Fire Department.Update - Monday, September 7, 5:15 pm - Crews are finding hotspots and extinguishing them.
