September 7, 2026The Buss Fire in Callahan County started during the early afternoon on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Local fire departments requested Texas A&M Forest Service assistance with a wildfire involving several homes, outbuildings and vehicles. A strike team of engines from Texas A&M Forest Service responded to the fire. FINAL UPDATE - September 7, 3:00 pm - The Buss Fire in Callahan County is 100% contained.
