The Glenwood Fire started on August 14, 2026, in Ector County and was responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters and heavy equipment at 4:46 pm and quickly responded. Texas A&M Forest Service is currently in unified command with local fire departments. FINAL UPDATE August 15, 2026 8:30 am - The Glenwood Fire is 100% contained. All state resources have been released from the fire.
